Teringat waktu-waktu mula nak bangunkan Persatuan Sukan Lengan Negeri Selangor dan mereka-mereka yang bersama kami. Daripada ramai-ramai yang ada dalam gambar tu, dah tak ramai yang masih bersama persatuan dan masih aktif. WAF RULES AND REGULATIONS: SECTION 5 - COMPETITION RULES

Section 5 – Competition Rules

5.1.      Double Elimination Seeding

5.1.1    WAF Championships will always be double elimination. All contestants must lose twice. No seeding prior to championships. Contestants are placed on draw sheet by luck of the draw. Team members from the same country will not be matched against each other on the first round if possible.

5.2.      General Guidelines

5.2.1    Contestant for each weight class will be announced and they will come to the stage to be verified against the draw sheet.

5.2.2    Contestants’ names will be called and they have 60seconds to come to the table. Failure to appear in 60 seconds, they will be given a loss. They will approach the table, shake hands with their opponent, and then take a grip.

5.2.3    Anyone with long hair will have to have their hair restrained in some fashion. Headbands are permitted but not hats.

5.2.4    Referees are not there to use force or wrestle with you. A referee will lightly touch

competitors’ hands to see that they are properly aligned, wrists straight and arm centered to the table tops.

5.2.5    No breaks in contest during or between matches, unless there is equipment failure, draw sheet mistake or authorized by officials

5.2.6    No competitor will be matched twice against the same opponent unless for place standing.

5.2.7    The referee’s may give a disabled puller some allowances for his handicap.

5.2.8    You can only pin your opponent on the winning side of the table.

5.3.     Setting up / Start of Match

5.3.1   The grip is palm to palm, grip at thumb, thumb knuckle must be visible. Gripped hands  should be level on a plain at the forefingers. Freehand will grip the hand peg provided  at the table edge. This arm may or may not touch the table top. Finger  nails should be trimmed so as not to injure your opponent. Stickum / rosin / chalk  are permitted.

5.3.2   Backpressure to the extent that it pulls your opponents arm across the marked cente rof the table will not be allowed. This infraction will be deemed the same as a false start.

5.3.3    Shoulders will be kept square to the table. They may slope to either side before the start.

5.3.4    There will be a hand width between the shoulder and forearm of each competitor as well as between the chin and hand prior to the start.

5.3.5    The signal given by the Head Referee is “Read…Go!” in an unspecified cadence. At the end of the match the referee will say “Stop” and indicate the winner by raising his arm towards him/her. All effort must be made by the referee that the competitors are aware the match is stopped.

5.3.6    A pin is when any part of the natural wrist line to finger tips, touches or goes below the touch pad.

5.3.7    Competitors legs can be wrapped around the table leg or braced against an opposite table leg prior to start of the match, providing they are not interfering with their opponent. Feet can be off the ground during the competition and legs can be moved in any fashion, as long as they don’t interfere with their opponent.

5.3.8    In the event of any injury during competition, the competitor’s name will continue to be brought forward until he/she has fulfilled the two loss commitment. The match that competitor was injured in will be regarded as a loss.

5.3.9    There is no time limit during an actual bout. However, if in the estimation of the Head Referee or a WAF authorized physician, that a competitor is deemed unfit to continue, the match will be stopped.

35th World Armwrestling Championships 2013, Gdynia, Poland

This is ”our” Polish place where we, as organizers, want to come out well!

One hundred and sixty sets of medals are waiting!

About one thousand or even more competitors. Four days of matches! In total, eight hours a day of excitement! From juniors to seniors. Come and join us in a beautiful place at the Baltic Sea.Poland is one of the leading organizers of armwrestling events, both amateur and professional. We’ve already organized many successful events, including the first international competition in Tricity, or Lion Cup 2012. You’ve certainly noticed that even the European Championships in Lithuania had a “Polish mark” as Mazurenko Promotion Team (a group connected with the Armwrestling Federation Poland) was involved in organizing the event. 

Being aware of what went well in Lithuania, we also know what could be improved. That’s why the more serious we take organizing the World Championships in Poland. For sure, we don’t want you to experience another disappointment, as it was the case with the competition in Brazil in 2012.

35th Armwrestling Championships, Gdynia – Poland, 01-08 September 2013

There will be several thousand matches, first eliminations, then semi-finals and at the end the final match with one table and two opponents.

In the evening, at about 8 p.m. there’ll be time for hymns, emotion and tears.

The place is just perfect for the event – new and modern with enough space for all of us.

Of course there will be a live broadcast on the Internet.

Apart from our competitors, of course fans are also welcome.

Come to see live matches. It cannot be compared with any broadcast!

After each exciting day, you’ll have a chance to do a little sightseeing in Gdynia, Sopot or Gdańsk.

So, if you find some time, you’re more than welcome to enter our Amrwrestling world!

The 4-day competition will be divided into two parts. On the first day (04 September, 2013) left-hand matches will be held in the following categories: younger juniors, masters and disabled athletes (both men and women). On the second day (05 September 2013) the above mentioned competitors will lock their right arms on the table. Elder juniors (up to 21) and seniors will compete in left-hand matches on the third day of the competition (06 September 2013). On the last day (07 September 2013) they will fight in right-hand matches.

158 weight classes

The agenda for each day of the competition is as follows. Each day will start with eliminations (from 9 a.m.) This year, there will be eight tables on the stage, each assigned to a given weight class. A computer programme will automatically draw competitors who will fight first. The winners will go to group A, whereas the defeated to group B. If a competitor losses twice, they’ll be eliminated. In the final elimination matches, competitors fight for fifth and fourth places. The top three competitors will compete after a break in the second part of the competition. The final matches will start at 4 p.m. on the first two days, while on the last two days at 6 p.m. So if you want to see the greater number of matches, come in the morning. If, on the other hand, you’d like to witness the decisive phase, join us in the afternoon.

This is ”our” Polish place where we, as organizers, want to come out well!

The place where the event will be held is very meaningful in the history of Polish armwrestling. It was in Gdynia where an active competitor and global activist Igor Mazurenko turned Polish armwrestling into a modern sport.

At the first international competition, which we hosted, i.e. European Championships in 2000, only 160 competitors from 12 countries appeared, including 9 athletes from our national team.

Then we organized the World Championships in 2001 with as many as 560 competitors from 29 countries. The number of Polish athletes taking part in the event increased to 30. Last year we again hosted the European Championships – this time 670 athletes from 29 countries entered the competition.

They certainly remember the setting and media coverage of the competition. This year our team will be bigger and will use more advanced technology. Although it might seem that the previous event took place recently, in the meantime we managed to organize many other competitions, such as NEMIROFF WORLD CUP 2012.

We expect even thousand competitors and 50 national teams to attend the World Championships 2013.

The city of sport – Gdynia!

Gdynia has long been recognized as the “City of Sport”. There are excellent modern facilities: Municipal Stadium for 15 thousand spectators, which meets UEFA criteria, the marina “Marina Gdynia” with 260 berths, the National Rugby Stadium with more than three thousand seats, small and large fields and sports halls, or the newly built modern sports hall “Gdynia” for more than 5000 spectators. It was here in Gdynia where the first Polish armwrestling club “Złoty Tur Gdynia” was opened. This city is a breeding ground for best Polish armwrestlers. With the seat of the Armwrestling Federation Poland located in Gdynia, he city has been recognized as the Capital of Polish Armwrestling. No wonder that the Polish armwrestling authorities with Igor Mazurenko at the head have chosen the city to host the 35th World Armwrestling Championships in 2013.

Those who come earlier and have some time to do some sightseeing in Gdynia, won’t regret. The Baltic Sea looks amazing in the early autumn, gentle and dangerous at the same time. Plus ports, beaches and delicious food. Make sure you find some time to explore the city, it’s really worth it!

Amateur, yet professional!

We still have a few months for preparations. Although armwrestling is an amateur sport, our ambition is to create professional conditions for athletes competing in Gdynia. That’s why our organizational committee has been working on this project since December 2012. There will be several dozen people involved in organizing the event, including interpreters, hostesses, and media support. A dozen subcontractors will work with us to make this event a success.

Walau pun anda hampir kalah dan pasti kalah, namun anda terus berjuang, bertarung berhabis-habisan hingga ke titisan darah terakhir. Segala keperihan dan kesakitan yang anda sedang alami bagaikan tidak terasa. Ini bukan mimpi tapi kenyataan. Nyamannya.

AKSI YANG SEMPAT DIRAKAM DI MALAYSIA ARMWRESTLING SUPERMATCH 2013

Salam.

Kesimpulannya selepas menyaksikan aksi-aksi hebat di Malaysia armwrestling supermatch 2013 pada 8 Jun 2013 yang lalu di Vivatel Kuala Lumpur, dapat Badangpower katakan rugi kepada mereka yang tidak hadir menyaksi perlawanan-perlawanan hebat di depan mata sendiri. Berbanding menyaksikan hanya di youtube, kali ini anda dapat meyaksikan secara langsung malah bertemu dan berbual dan mendapatkan tip-tip dari ahli-ahli gusti hebat Australia, Russia, Jepun, Amerika Syarikat, Indonesia malah sparing partner kita sendiri iaitu pasukan Singapura.

Badangpower cukup bangga dan rasa terharu, apabila pasukan Jiran kita iaitu Indonesia turun dengan jumlah yang begitu ramai terdiri ahli gusti lengan, penyokong, tukang urut, jurufoto dan juga penyokong-penyokong. Begitu juga dengan penyokong tempatan Selangor, Melaka dan Sabah yang memenuhi dewan pertandingan. Badangpower harap kememriahan ini akan berterusan pada pertandingan-pertandingan yang lain di mana gusti lengan mempunyai peminat setianya yang tersendiri.

Tahniah kepada Zil Fadli dan anggota team yang lain kerana telah berjaya menganjurkan pertandingan dengan begitu meriah serta lancar tanpa apa-apa gangguan. Harap pada pertandingan akan datang akan lebih ramai ahli gusti lengan dari eluruh dunia yang akan menyertai.

Badangpower berharap, gambar-gambar yang diambil dari lens kamera Badangpower ini akan dapat menceritakan kehebatan aksi-aksi pemain pada pertandingan berkenaan. Jumpa lagi.

MALAYSIA ARMWRESTLING SUPERMATCH 2013: MALAYSIA GONDOL 4 EMAS

Vivatel Kuala Lumpur, 8 Jun 2013. Malaysia mengondol empat emas dalam Pertandingan Gusti Lengan Supermatch 2013 yang diadakan di Vivatel Hotel, Kuala Lumpur. Pasukan Malaysia dibarisi oleh pemain-pemain gusti lengan gabungan tiga negeri iaitu Selangor, Melaka dan Sabah menang bergaya ke atas lawan masing-masing.

Steward Steafano Steven (Sabah) berjaya memungut emas pertama Malaysia apabila berjaya mengalahkan Dave Hum dari Singapura 5-0. Diikuti oleh Joefrrey Jolly (Sabah) yang mendapat tentang sengit daripada peserta Australia, Jesse Johnson dengan keputusan 3-2. Mohamad Nizar Yusof (Selangor) meneruskan kecemerlangan Malaysia apabila menang 5- 0 ke atas pemain Singapura, Desmond Low. Lee Thiam Swee (Melaka) menambah satu lagi emas apabila berjaya menewaskan pemain Australia, Nicholas Tiliacos juga dengan keputusan 5-0.

Bagaimana pun kecemerlangan empat pemain ini gagal ditersukan oleh rakan-rakan yang lain apabila Zil Fadli tewas kepada Ken Yoshioka dari Jepun 5-0, Hairul Lee tewas kepada Jefrrey Poi,Singapura (5-0), Jack Chia tewas kepada Steven Converse (USA) dengan 5-0, ,Abd Razak Hadezhir tewas kepada Melvyn Loh daripada Singapura 5-0, Richard Eyan(Sabah) kalah kepada Phil Rasmussen, pemain Australia (5-0) dan Jolly Johnson kalah kepada peserta Indonesia, Anes James (1-4).

Secara keseluruhan penyampaian ini amat baik sekali kerana ia menunjukan pemain-pemain juga setandingan dan mampu beraksi diperingkkat antarabangsa jika diberi peluang. Namun bagi pemain yang tewas kali ini telah mendapat pengajaran dan pengalaman yang baik bermain diperingkat antarabangsa. Latihan yang lebih khusus dapat mempertingkatkan keupayaan. Zil Fadli, misalnya agak keletihan dan hilang tumpuan yang menjadikan salah satu punca gagal memberi saingan sebenar kepada pemain jepun, Ken Yoshioka.

Tahniah kepada pemenang-pemenang dan diharapkan kemenangan mereka ini akan memberikan inspirasi kepada pemain-pemain untuk berusahan mencapai tempat yang lebih tinggi di peringkat antarabangsa.

GUSTI LENGAN DI SAMBUTAN BULAN ULANGTAHUN MPAJ KE 21

Salam Sejahtera.

Sempena Sambutan Bulan Ulangtahun MPAJ ke 21, Majlis Perbandanran Ampang Jaya atau MPAJ akan mengadakan pelbagai kativiti.telah disusun bagi memeriahkan sambutan ini. Gusti llengan telah dipilih menjadi salah satu acara pada bulan sambutan ini.

MPAJ dengan kerjasama Persatuan Sukan Lengan Negeri Selangor akan menganjurkan Pertandingan Gusti Lengan pada 6 Julai, 2013 bertempat di Ampitheather, Menara MPAJ, Jalan Pandan Utama, Pandan Indah, Kuala Lumpur. Tigaa kategori akan dipertanndingkan iaitu kategori A 85kg ke atas, Kategori B lelaki 75kg-85kg dan kategoi c lelaki 75kg ke bawah.

AKSI DI PUSAT SAINS NEGARA TETAP HEBAT

Salam untuk semua.

Hebat! Itu yang boleh Badangpower perkataankan. Walapun tanpa kelibat pemain-pemain utama yang berehat untuk persiapan ke perlawanan Supermaatch pada 8 Jun, 2013, persaingan antara pemain-pemain tetaap sengit. Antara yang menonjol adalah pemain muda Melaka Lee Yong Sheng yang muncul juara, dan juag Saamsul Fitri, pemain baru yang berjaya menempatkan diri ke kelompok tiga tempat ke atas. Kita juga bangga apabila beberapa pemain lama muncul kembali untuk memeriahkan pertandingan, Begitu juga penyertaan daripada negeri Johor dan Sabah (walau pun bukan pemain utama) pada pertandingan kali ini. Kita berharap akan lebih ramai pemain daripada seluruh negara akan menyertai pertandingan yang akan datang.

Dalam pada Badangpower gembira dengan pencapain pemain Selangor memenangi 3 kategori daripada empat kategori yang dipertandingkan, Selangor masih terasa kehilangan penguasaan dalam kategori A. Buat masa ini, tanggungjawab memikul harapan Selangor dalam kategori A dipikul oleh Jack Chia dan Azmy Nen, Badangpower tetap berharap kedua-dua pemain ini akan segera matang untuk melaksanakan tanggungjawab mereka menaikkan nama Selangor bagi kategori A.

Sementara itu pemain utama Selangor berjaya mengekalkan kedudukan mereka dan masih bertahan tanpa mendapat cabaran sebenar daripada pemain lain. Mohd Nizar Yusuf, Zil Fadli (tidak bermain kali ini), Sazali Nazaki, Hairul Li, Abdul Razak Hadezhir, Mervyn Siew, Mohd Rafae, Najib Ismail dan beberapa orang lagi masih lgi memikul tugas mengharumkan nama Selangor dalam sukan gusti Lengan.

Badangpower nak maklumkan lebih awal, kalau semuanya berjalan lancar, pada bulan November ini, sekali lagi dengan kerjasama Pusat Sains Negara, Persatuan Sukan Lengan Negeri Selangor akan menganjurkan pertandingan gusti lengan Mr Selangor 2013. Beberapa pemain terbaik Selangor juga akan diberi penghargaan atas keupayaan mereka mengharumkan nama Selangor. Jadi diharap semua pemain Selangor akan bersiap sedia mulai sekarang.
